THN! News - 53 Days Until Submission!

The future is undoubtedly quantum, as noted by a recent announcement by IBM, and Elevate Quantum stands at the forefront of this quantum revolution.

FEDERAL FUNDING ON THE HORIZON

As we work collaboratively with a range of partners across Colorado, New Mexico, and Wyoming towards meeting the EDA Tech Hub Grant’s Phase Two application deadline, Elevate Quantum is poised to unlock an implementation grant ranging from $40-70 million. With the potential to distribute funds across five to ten national hubs, the prospect of over $1 billion in funding is in our future. Notably, Elevate Quantum is one of only two quantum designations awarded nationally, with the other designation going to Bloch Quantum in Illinois, reflecting a promising 50:50 chance of securing federal funding.

Working to unlock this funding is made possible through:

  • Elevate Quantum’s leaders – Corban Tillemann-Dick, Board Chair and Yerushalmi Zachary, Chief Executive and Regional Innovation Officer

  • Board members from across higher education, government, research, and economic development

  • Dedicated consultants including Boston Consulting Group, Community Funding Accelerator, Delivery Associates and GTC Advisors (generously supported by the Walton Family Foundation)

  • Expert pillar leaders. Read more below about the five pillars.

Through the many hands and minds involved, we have worked collaboratively to identify and fill gaps in Colorado’s quantum ecosystem – and to ensure a successful application!

ELEVATE QUANTUM’S VISION

At the heart of Elevate Quantum's vision is securing the Mountain West's position as the global epicenter for Quantum Information Technology (QIT) development and enhancing U.S. economic and strategic security through:

  • Accelerating lab-to-market transitions for cutting-edge quantum research

  • Facilitating a vibrant startup and scale-up ecosystem

  • Improving quantum technology through diversity-fueled innovation while building an inclusive workforce

THE CONSORTIUM OF PARTNERS

Elevate Quantum's consortium is a powerhouse of over seventy partners, with ninety percent from our own backyard here in Colorado. Spanning labor/workforce organizations, industry/firms, economic development and capital, K-12 STEM schools, Higher Education, and State and Local government, Elevate Quantum's diverse representation aligns with the EDA Tech Hub’s goals. Broadening our reach to include New Mexico and Wyoming further strengthens Elevate Quantum's potential success, bringing in key institutions such as Sandia National Laboratories and Los Alamos National Laboratory.

“We have the opportunity to build a diverse and inclusive industry, offering a vast array of employment opportunities across different educational backgrounds, both in quantum and in computer science more broadly. Events like Computer Science Education Week play an important role in helping more Coloradans understand the potential and the possibilities this field opens up.”

FIVE PILLARS TO QUANTUM ADVANCEMENT

Elevate Quantum’s vision unfolds through five strategic pillars, each spearheaded by experts and allocated dedicated funds:

  • CORE: P3 Governance of Elevate Quantum’s operations.

  • LAUNCH: Creating the world’s premier ecosystem for quantum startup incubation.

  • MAKE: Building the world’s first open-access multi-modal quantum maker space.

  • SCALE: Supporting Colorado’s mature companies with scale-up assistance and loan guarantees.

  • INCLUDE: Ensuring inclusivity, equity, and justice in quantum across Colorado, New Mexico, and Wyoming through education, access, and workforce development programs.
